Folio wins ITV1 McCartney commission
Folio Productions has won a commission from ITV1 for a programme charting one of the biggest celebrity divorces of all time, the end of the Sir Paul McCartney’s four year marriage to Heather Mills.
The programme includes interviews with insiders, observers and former colleagues of the pair, and explores the charges and counter-charges that have made the divorce a publicity sensation.
Sandra Oddy is producer/director and the executive producer is Steve Anderson. It was commissioned by ITV Director of Factual and Daytime Alison Sharman and will transmit later this year.
This latest ITV Folio commission follows the success of McCartney vs McCartney, which charted the propaganda war between Paul and Heather at the time it was announced they were both petitioning for divorce. The programme attracted 4.2million viewers in the 10-10.30pm slot. Other recent Folio productions for ITV1 include the Half Ton Hospital series, which provided the second highest rated programmes on ITV1 this year and which is also transmitting as a daytime series later this month, Kate Middleton vs the Paparazzi, Steve Irwin - A Tribute to the Crocodile Hunter, and Madonna: Million Dollar Babies
